If the Hero is standing near a wall with dark gold ore in it, the Pickaxe will remove the gold from the tile and place it into the Hero's backpack. The Pickaxe can be placed in the quick slot of the tool bar, much like wands, or ranged weapons; and tapping it will allow your Hero to mine any adjacent gold ore, without having to open the Backpack first.
It takes 2 turns to mine a Dark Gold Ore.
The Hero gets hungrier by 10 SP when a Dark Gold Ore is mined.

It can also be used as a weapon, as part of the Troll Blacksmith's alternate quest.
To complete the troll's alternate quest of slaying a Vampire bat, the Hero must equip the Pickaxe as a weapon, and then slay a single bat. Once the bat is slain, the Pickaxe will become blood-stained and glows dark red.
The Pickaxe is not upgradeable.

The Pickaxe is given to you only after speaking to the Troll blacksmith.
Tips[]
- Be careful while hunting, as the Pickaxe inflicts very low damage.
