Scroll of Wipe Out
Scroll of Wipe Out/data

Obtaining

The Scroll of Wipe Out cannot be bought from the Shop.

The Sacrificial chamber is the only place where this scroll can be obtained.
It is obtained by slaying about 5 enemies with the debuff, 'Marked for Sacrifice'.
The sacrifice must be a character that drops XP.
The scroll will appear on the pedestal where the sacrificial fire was.

When read

It eliminates all characters at the current depth, except for the boss enemies (Yog-Dzewa's fists are considered bosses).
All NPCs present at the current depth will be eliminated.
(It seems intentional as mechanisms were changed to accommodate for the possibility.)

Tips

  • If the Shopkeeper gets eliminated by the scroll, then the items in his shop will be abandoned, free for the taking.
    • Try to save any/all Scrolls of Wipe Out you manage to accumulate for Shop depths, especially for the Ambitious Imp Shopkeeper at depth 21, to save you the high costs of purchasing his items.
      • Just be sure you sell all items you don't need first, before reading the scroll.
  • Saving this scroll for Depths 22-24 would be very helpful towards your survival through the final stage.
  • If you're inundated by the summons in the final two boss fights, and have no other recourse, read this scroll to eliminate them (Undead Dwarves and Larvae).
  • If an Alarm trap is accidentally triggered, or a Scroll of Challenge is unintentionally read, and you're in a dire situation with no other recourse, reading a Scroll of Wipe Out right afterwards would help you survive.
  • You can receive a second or even a third Scroll of Wipe Out from a single Sacrificial chamber if you slay another enemy or two after the scroll appears but before you lose the 'Marked for Sacrifice' debuff. Try to be surrounded by enemies before you slay the last sacrifice to take full advantage of this. A Swarm of flies can be very useful.

Trivia

  • Scroll of Wipe Out used to be called Scroll of Wipe Out/data but it was renamed in [[Update/[[:#vScroll of Wipe Out/data|Update Scroll of Wipe Out/data]].

Trivia

  • Enemies can still spawn at the depth that's been wiped out, immediately after the scroll has been read, making it seem like the scroll did not wipe them all out.
    • The scroll will wipe out Quest NPCs, even if you have not finished their quest.
    • Whether it is revealed or not, reading the Scroll of Wipe Out will eliminate any Mimics that are present at the current depth.
    • If there's an Animated statue on that depth, discovered or not, it will also be killed.
