How about an enemy that is slower than the player but throws temporary blockages around, such as vines or roots?
All the monsters move at the same speed as the player, it seems, which removes some tactical play possibilities.

A living root would be a good name,it would be a good quest: kill this enemy-like. Like the
Fetid rat in prison. the livinng root has 28 HP and the quest can be taken by the Old wandmaker. The old wandmaker says that the root is a creature what he has summoned and he lost the control of it because it broke free.
A Bulbasaur?

Crabs and uh bats walk faster than the player, but yeah slower enemies would be nice. Golems are same speed, but attack slower. Maybe a monster like the Golem where it is slow in both attack and movement speed, but hits high to make up for it.
Juggernaught [Prison] - Slow monster, hits high.
Rock crab [Sewers, crab variant] - very slow, hits moderatetly.
Or: A dwarven centurion, has a warhammer attached into it´s left arm and has a battleaxe in it´s right hand. (Copied fron elder scrolls V because I am destroyes one of those dwember machines in a quest.)
How about to give that slow creature a slowing debuff? It would be fair: slow creature that can make u slow too.
I have another idea for a special enemy. A range mage, who teleporting himself somewhere on the level, but not to in sight after taking a hit?
Or an idea for a boss. The melle warrior, who teleports randomly only in the room and outside ur sight after a hit, slower than a player, and apply the slowing and blind debuff. And he heal a little every turn if u don't see him.
A good enemy would be that slow, inmortal and strong enemy. He could stalk the demon halls, using the poor lighting to his advantage. Your only option is to flee.
wandmaker still exists
