  • Question, is this even supposed to happen? I thought these rooms could only be Toxic gas or Paralytic gas! Was this like officially implemented? Or did a happy glitch just let it slip through? Anyways, the Dungeon (or Watabou, in case it is intentional) has surprised me one more time!

So is this intentional and Watabou decided to not announce it so you get amused by encountering it? Well, I think this is the most ridiculous thing the Pixel Dungeon has to offer right now!

    • It’s not a glitch, it’s intended. I thought that I announced it but in fact it’s in the “Second and last batch of notable unannounced changes between versions 1.6.3a and 1.6.4” (writing still in progress, sorry…):

It’s now documented as a comment, it must now be adapted in the article.

    • Well,nothing that a levitation potion cannot resolve :/

    • Still though, That room added is just TOO MUCH! I unexpectedly stepped on one of the tiles in prison stage, then the enemy spawns made a chain reaction from tile to tile. I had to use a second door to hide behind, since the horde of enemies was overwhelming me. But that room also kinda-ish maes a good EXP Farm, well, if you want to nearly die.

    • I laughed when this happened to me. I typically toss items in to trigger the plates if I don't happen to have a levitation on me, and the one time I did this it triggered the chain reaction and I was massacred. I was like "You know what, dungeon? You got me. You got me good."

    • HA, this just happened to me.  4 x 6 grid of summon traps.  Threw one dagger, 18 crabs, 4 gnolls, and 2 rats appeared. stepped outside the door and just manned up.  glorious meat and gold farming commenced.

    • PROTIP: If you see something you're not 100% familiar with, even if you think it's just a reskin, IDENTIFY IT!

It will most certainly have a new trick up its sleeve. (after all, why would Watabou put something in just to add a new brute force/plain damage object to all levels? It will always, repeat, ALWAYS have another purpose!)

This happened to you? You should use toxic gas potion or wands of lightning or disintegration. That way, all the enemies can die. If you want to go away, though, use potion of paralytic gas. It'll give enough time for you to flee.

    • It is basically suicide if you step on those TP traps in deeper depths like dat...

tho it would be quite a scene if you have a scroll of rage... hue hue

When I found this room, I left it and went to kill the Dwarf King so I could use the Armor Kit to prevent my armor from Degrading, and I had a Tempered weapon so that didn't Degrade either, then I came back and set one trap off so I could fight them a few at a time. I didn't expect them to all go off at once! I fought a running battle all across the level, fighting them one at a time in hallways and retreating and ambushing and I got them all in the end.
