  • I put a Seed of Sorrowmoss in the doorway and a Seed of Earthroot on a water tile behind it, woke Goo up and made it step on the SoSRM. I didn't move off the SoE at all in the whole fight and was going to beat Goo in the next 2 or 3 hits then Goo killed me when my health wasn't actually that low.

How much health did you have? He shouldn't have been able to kill you unless you lost the buff the turn before he killed.

    I won't repeat my explanations...

Repeat what explanations? I know you said that you still had the buff when he killed you.

    • I had about 1/3 health left and was about level 4

Ok, before you fight Goo, you should level your Hero/ine up more. Level 6 is as far as the game will let you go before fighting Goo, and by that time, you would have 45 HP (except for the Huntress which would have 40 HP and without drinking any Potions of Might).

When you drink a Potion of Might, (which is obtained by throwing a Potion of Strength into a Well of Transmutation,) it will permanently increase your Hero/ine's strength by 1 and max health by 5. If you find a Well of Transmutation, you should probably throw a Potion of Strength into it.

Also, try filling your Dew Vial if you can. This can really help you during your battle with Goo. It will revive you automatically if and when your Hero/ine dies as long as it is filled (10/10 Dewdrops).

Ok. Shadow Automaton also explained it.

    • Usually when I try to level up I die because there are too many enemies and I get my health gradually depleted until I run out. I did read the pages for the marsupial rat, gnoll scout and sewer crab, but running into 5 sewer crabs at once is still a bit much for a level 3 player.

Last time I fought Goo I threw a golden bee into the room and the bee depleted about half Goo's health. I was going to finish him off but didn't have a seed of Earthroot, but I planted a Firebloom and Sorrowmoss in his way but he kept pumping up and even though I ran away Goo still killed me.

(I'm posting this here because this wall conversation is about fighting Goo, but won't post anywhere irrelevant.)

Yes, it is. As long as you are not fighting a Sewer Crab, you could run away from a battle when you are low on health, so you can heal. Be careful not to run into a dead end because you would then be forced to fight the enemy. Don't go into a room that you haven't checked out/explored yet because there could be more enemies, and it would be certain death if there are. Attack the enemy that you are running away from when you have ~10 HP because you would then be able to withstand a hit. If your Hero/ine dodges the enemy's attack, attack the enemy until the it hits him/her. Then start running again if you didn't kill it and got hit.

How far away were you from Goo when he hit you?
If you don't have a Seed of Earthroot, you could use a Seed of Sungrass if you have that.

I forgot to mention, you can also completely fill up the Dew Vial by throwing it into a Well of Health if you can find one. This is a lot easier than filling the Dew Vial with Dewdrops.
