I'm running through as a warrior, and I'm stocked with potions and a Wand of Flock that I don't really know the best ways to use. I was wondering if anyone knew of some cool or interesting ways to use potions of paralytic gas, levitation, wand of flock, or just really anything?
A nice combination could be a wand of regrowth and liquid fire flask. When you fire the wand, the TRAJECTORY of the beam from your hero to the target will sprout small patches of grass and the TARGET should be 'rooted' in place with tall grasses in a cross formation. If the target is rooted (or even if it's not but still far from you), then throw the fire flask on the enemy. Even if the fire flask hits the grass, EVERYTHING that has a grass/door will become engulfed in flames creating a "path of fire" from the target to your hero. Then position yourself in such a way where each turn, the enemy will walk on the "path of fire" (observe the path enemies take when approaching you and you'll be familiar with it) ....(as I have observed, the path being taken by all characters in the game would be a STRAIGHT line until you reach a certain square where the shortest path to the target would be diagonal.) orz #CONFUSING @.@
x - target ; o - your hero ; ! - path taken
the same goes for enemies targeting you. Just change "x" with your hero and "o" with the enemy
Always fought that when you attacked while invisible u would get visible just realized that doesn't count for throwing darts, probably wands neither haven't tried that one though. Took a statue with battelaxe on floor one out like that... has anyone ever had a wand of disintegration and flock at the same time yet. I guess u could increase the damage dealt like if sheep counts as monster too the damage should be increased on the monster behind it haven't had the chance to try it though and to confirm that
They are usefull for Tengu when he activate the poisonous traps. You won't have to get around them if you're levitating. Also they give you bonus to stealth but not much. I can't really feel the difference.

The stealth bonus applies only against sleeping enemies (they don’t hear the Hero walk), not against wandering enemies (they still see the Hero).
The probability of waking up a sleeping enemy is 1/(distance + stelathLevelFromRingsOfShadows + 2×isLevitating).
So, levitating is equivalent to being 2 tiles farer or having a Ring of Shadows +2.
While most people know about the fact that the Wand of Regrowth can root enemies and sustain you with dewdrops from the grass it creates, there are other ways it's useful as well. You can use it to discover hidden traps, as grass will not grow where a trap is hidden. Use it on a long corridor to search for otherwise unavoidable traps.

Yeah, this is a great idea, pretty sure it would work.
Also, lightning strikes can go through sheep
Wand of amok makes enemies attack sheep
Wild enchantments should deal damage to enemies on the other side of sheep
Wand of flock is great for blocking theives, and making them attack you.
You can teleport, slow, and cast amok on sheep(they still won't attack)
The only problem with wand of flock is that enemies easily go around the sheep, and if you block an enemy in a corridor, he usually runs out of sight as he tries to find a way around.
Wands of blink can effectively replace levitation potions. Found a trap room with a treasure on the other side? Don't want to waste time running around the level looking for that levetation pot that is certainly in the last room you'll look in? Blink to the pedestal, grab your item, and blink to the door!
It's also possible in the flooded vaults, but riskier. I'd recommend having the invis pot just in case, if you want to try it. I don't know if piranha can block your blink path... one would think that if they're under the water, they shouldn't be able to.
Piranha will block your blink path. (Last time I tried this was last update, I would assume they count as a standing mob).
Traps will block your blink path. (Tried this yesterday on Tengu, hit trap, got poisoned. Twice).
Does anyone know if you get XP from Wand of Amok kills? (I.E. You Amok a mob, they kill another mob, do you get XP or is it lost?)
@Shuzumiya: It works GREAT. Fire+Regrowth = Stacked damage. 1- They take damage from the initial blast, 2- They get ignited, ticks for burn, 3- Standing in fire (like a bad raider) also ticks for fire damage.
Telekinesis wands can trigger the traps, and pass through any object in their path. I wonder if it was the mob that triggered the trap (normally they have no effect on traps), or if the telekinesis bolt pushed the mob back a space, then triggered the trap on that space? It'd be interesting to know which was the actual catalyst.
