  • Enchanting rings vs enchanting weapons

I have a +3 spear, a +2 ring of accuracy, and 5 scrolls of upgrade.  I have been waiting for a nicer weapon to update, but now that I have found this ring I wonder if I would be better off just enchating the ring, saving 2 enchantments for allowing me to wield a +0 glaive or +0 hammer, should I ever find one.

By “enchanting” you mean “upgrading”, right? (It’s not the same thing!)

saving 2 enchantments for allowing me to wield a +0 glaive or +0 hammer, should I ever find one.

I don’t understand that part… Is it in case they are cursed? If so, a Scroll of Remove Curse will be better.

Unfortunately it’s hard to compare better damage (by upgrading a weapon) vs. better accuracy (by upgrading the ring), as it depends on many factors, including the fought enemy. However as the ring accuracy bonus is exponential (1.4totalAccuracyBonus) while the weapon damage bonus is linear only, as a rule of thumb I’d say that it’d be better to mass upgrade the ring (but maybe am I wrong!)

    • Yes, I meant upgrading.

About the saving scrolls -- my strength is currently inadequate for a +0 glaive or +0 hammer  so I was planning to upgrade  it -- assuming I ever find one, of course.   The nice thing about using the scrolls on the ring is that my +3 spear could get the benefit as well until I find something better.  And killing cave spinners is getting tough with just a spear ...

    • Upgrade the ring. With a glaive thats upgraded +5 its still difficult to kill many monsters on all the floors, but the ring eventually on the long run will give you a great edge over everyone else.
